When you make a decision to start an exercise program there are many things to consider. You can check your B.M.I. to find a starting point. Your body mass index can give an idea of where you stand and what range you should be in. The b.m.i. calculator is meant for the average person. If you are an athlete, body builder or someone with a large muscle content it will not work. The calculator can give you a starting point to decide if you are considered a healthy weight for your height. Even if you are in the healthy range some fitness is still to be considered.
Fitness can be anything. From a mourning walk to an hour workout at the gym. If you all ready have a workout you follow then congratulations. If not it is never to late and your never to old to get started. Start today by taking a 10 minute walk around the block. Then work your way up to getting some fitness equipment to increase your work out a bit. Taking along a pair of hand weights, 1-5 pounds, can significantly increase any workout. There are so many exercise programs out there to choose from how do you know where to start? The key is to not follow the next big thing but use something that you will follow. Make sure it is going to be something you will not quit and will stay interested in. Finding a friend to exercise with can motivate you to stick with what ever program you choose. Encourage each other to do better and not to quit. A fitness buddy can motivate you or maybe you can motivate someone else to become healthier. So it will feel good to help make one of your friends or family become healthier.
There are so many reasons for getting fit for life. No time to waste just get up and get out there.
